Contacting School Council
Join the HCPS community email server. See document Important communications notification. And here is text” The Community e-mail list service is provided by HCPS School Council to promote Huntely Centennial related communications and dialogue.
We have recently added approximately 50 new e-mail addresses to the Huntley Centennial Community e-mail server. Welcome to all the new list members.
There are now just under 200 e-mail addresses on the list which I estimate reaches on the order of 50% of Huntley Centennial families.
A few quick points on how the server works:
1) Anybody on the list can send a message to the list which will then be forwarded to all e-mail addresses on the list.
2) The server will only forward messages originated (sent) by members of the list (prevents spam).
3) If you wish to respond to a
question or comment on a message received, use REPLY in your e-mail
application. Replies to messages will only go back to the original
sender. If you send a response to a message which arrived from the
list, back to the list e-mail address, community

The cost of white and skim milk is $0.65 per carton per day and the cost of chocolate is $0.70 per carton per day. New! SCRIP Cards
Downloadable document SCRIP Order Form - January
School Council is beginning a new fundraiser which is called SCRIP card purchase. The retailers who participate in the SCRIP card purchase program donate a percentage of what our parents and supporters spend in their stores to our school. Our school earns cash rebates on all your purchases. The amount that we receive varies from retailer to retailer but averages 3% of your purchase.
You can use the cards and certificates to purchase essentials like groceries, gasoline and clothing. A complete list is on the attached order form.
School council will use funds raised by this program for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 towards a new play structure or some form of playground improvement.
Placing an order:
You must indicate on your order form (download link above) how you want to receive your cards. If you indicate that the cards should be sent home with your child, remember that HCPS Council is not liable for lost or stolen cards once we deliver them to your child’s teacher for them to hand to your child.
Orders are collected every Wednesday. This is an ongoing program for every week of the year. You must attach a cheque dated Wednesday for the amount of the SCRIP cards you wish to purchase. Please make your cheques payable to Huntley Centennial Public School Council. NSF charges will apply.
You can complete several order forms for several weeks in advance and attach a post dated cheque for each Wednesday on which you want orders placed. One cheque per order form. Complete one order form per post-dated cheque. Orders will be processed every Wednesday. Your cheques will be cashed the Thursday morning.
Orders without payment, or without all the necessary information will not be processed.
Receiving your cards:
Orders received by Wednesday will be processed Wednesday evening. Cards will be returned the following Wednesday.
1. You can pick your cards up between 2:40 and 2:50 in the main hallway from me on Wednesdays.
2. You can pick your cards up at my home (110 Alissia Crs.) at your convenience.
3. You can choose to have your cards sent home with your child.
You can download the
order form from the top of this section. Order forms will be
available at the office, upon request, and electronically via email.
I will send a new note and more order forms home in a few weeks
updating everyone on how this program is working out as a
fundraiser.
Family Dance
Fall BBQ
Every year School Council welcomes in the new school year with a back to school BBQ in the back yard of the school. This is usually held the third Wednesday of the school year from 4pm-6:30pm and following the BBQ is the first school council meeting of the year in the school library. To volunteer to help at the BBQ contact any school council member. Many hands are needed to make this event a success!
Silent Auction
Every year School Council holds a Silent Auction. We call on interested parties to provide goods or services towards our Silent Auction. Huntley now has over 550 students. Providing a certificate or item towards our Silent Auction gets your business advertised to the families of all those students on several different notices that are sent home in knapsacks and electronically.
If you are able to provide a certificate or item towards the Silent Auction please contact me by return email before November 17th or contact Stephanie Nelson at 613-839-0541 in order to have your item listed in all documentation pertaining to the Silent Auction.
In past years we have had items ranging from cottage rentals to hockey tickets, to 2 hours of a handy-person’s time. If you are good at sewing you can donate a coupon for sewing. If you have a flair for decorating, how about offering a few hours of your time as a decorator? Perhaps you have some split wood that could be auctioned for home heating. The possibilities are endless!
All funds raised by the Silent auction are used by School Council to benefit our children. This year School Council is focusing on the library and the majority of funds raised by the Silent Auction will be used to purchase items to improve our library.
Thank you in advance for your support!
