Here’s a list of some things happening with respect to
accommodations:

1. Huntley Hearts program look for more information in the knapsacks
soon, contact Paula Benson if you would like to help!
2. Survey- contact Diane Bramble if you have not yet completed the
survey, survey results to be presented to board in February
3. Presentations to the board at many board meetings-contact Tracey
Brown if you can attend a meeting
4. Letter writing see below, write your comments to the board, the
province, our trustee
5. Tour of school for Trustees and MPP Norm Sterling March 7th and
23rd to show them what we need
6. Trustee Lynn Scott has given a verbal undertaking that she will
present a motion to the board to get us put on the list of schools
requiring major capital works.
7. White paper regarding facilities audit-Tracey Brown and Paula
Benson writing content, paper to be presented to board and province
8. Petitions-contact Deb Thompson if you have not yet signed the
petitions
9. Website - Ben Watson is creating a website as a communications
tool for accommodations
10. Huntley Winter carnival-look for Paula Benson with more
information at the carnival
11. Media relations-Trustee Scott revised the Fact Sheet created by
Sarah Miller. This will be recirculated once the revisions are
complete.
12. Media relations- Trustee Scott arranged for a tour of our school
with West Carleton reporter Sarah Trant, did you see the article in
Friday’s edition?
13. Lobbying the province- Karen McBride is contacting MPP Sterling
to involve him in the tour of the school
14. 100 days campaign - The 100 reasons why we need
an addition to be presented to the board and sent out to the media.
15. School Comparison matrix-Helen Harrison and Tracey Brown are
comparing other regional schools to find out what differences there
are and what we need to offer at our school to keep up with other
OCDSB schools. Info will be used in white paper and letters to the
province.
16. A form letter for all parents to
sign and mail in to the Ministry of Education requesting more
capital funding will be available on this website.
